DECLARATION OF STATE OF EMERGENCY IN 3 NORTH EAST STATE

President Jonathan deserves commendation for acting within the ambit of the constitution. Unlike President Olusegun Obasanjo who illegally removed elected governors under the guise of a state of emergency President has not dissolved democratic structures in the affected states. That is in order because an elected governor can only be removed by impeachment, resignation or on ground of infirmity of body or mind and NOT through a state of emergency. For the avoidance of doubt the proviso to section 11 (4) of the constitution which empowers the National Assembly to take over the legislative powers of a state in case of emergency states that “ nothing in this section shall be construed as conferring on the National Assembly power to remove the Governor or the Deputy Governor of the State from office”. Having complied with the constitution with respect to the state of emergency in 3 states President Jonathan should henceforth demonstrate to Nigerians that the days of presidential impunity are gone for ever in the country- Femi Falana. The President have shown charater in his decision to allow democratic structure remain.

PRESIDENT JONATHAN PERFORMANCE REMARK ON ELECTRICITY & OIL SECTOR

In January last year, I had cause to brief our nation on my determination to sanitize the oil industry in order that it would be run in a most businesslike manner such that Nigeria receives value for her God given resources and investments. I had earlier taken strong action with regard to the power sector. The goal was to arrive at the destination of self-sufficiency where waste and inefficiency is eliminated and electricity is available to meet the needs of our citizens.

I have received briefings that previously closed petroleum depots have been reopened or are about to be reopened nationwide and as at today, our domestic refining capacity has peaked at over 10 million liters per day which is our highest level in decades. Nigeria is now is on the road to meeting her fuel consumption needs domestically. Simultaneously, I have also received encouraging reports on the progress made in bringing suspects found wanting during the fuel subsidy probe to book and in accordance with the rule of law.

Two weeks ago, I hosted the Presidential Power Reform Transactions Signing Ceremony. The five power generation companies that emerged successful in the bidding process of the privatization of the sector received their certificates and are set to run their companies in a way as to guarantee electricity for domestic and industrial use even as the world is celebrating the transparent bidding process that culminated in the signing.

I want to assure you my friends on facebook that we shall put the darkness of these past decades behind us in no distant time. We shall only keep a forward movement in the critical sectors of our economy and may Almighty God help us all. GEJ (AS from is facebook)

POLITICS OF HATRED

I get myself ready for a wonderful show of politics with idealogy durin America or United Kingdom election period but the case is different in Nigeria as thugs are paraded to cause confussion. Idealogy is never in play. It is difficult to understand the value of one political party to another. To contest one need to have manifesto which i doubt most contestant do. People only want to led by stealing votes, this can continue.

Yesterday Ibadan went bad, properties distroy, people injuried for what? And why political  rally when there is not election. Its obvious political Leaders have gone crazy, the government need to do some before 2015. The world is watching.

COST OF FOREIGN HOSPITAL BY GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS

The one of the basic obligation of a government is to provide good medicare for the people but reverse is the case in Nigeria. If the hospital are well funded and equipped many of our politicians will not be travelling abroad even for Maleria treatment. The point is that the cost is huge on the economy, which account for gross unemployment, lack of infrastructure in the country.

In a year, almost all the State Governors will go for medical check up in Europe, Asia, or America, also on the lists are Local Govt Chairmen, Councillors, House of Assembly Members, etc. If all the money spent are channel to Hospital in Nigeria, Medicare will have improved greatly.
